Blue Force emerged as the last of three paintings which saw me grappling with some of my childhood issues. These dynamics had frozen my creativity whilst painting Oceans Rhythms.

The next, 'Serpent Rising,' led to a contemplation of creative energy represented by the snake breaking free from the ground. I had studied Indian philosophy so it came across as the notion of some kind of kundalini energy.

This last one is the celebration of my new found freedom from old and redundant strategies in life, which had imposed incredible limitations upon my development as an artist and a person.
