"Butterfly"© Acrylic on canvas; Size 48" by 48"; Date 1995. "The Butterfly" was created as a response to a counseling program I undertook in California. It was supposed to reveal my darkest side but at the time this was the image which came up. Years later the image opened to a clue about how 'types' are often a bi-product of early childhood experiences. In this way it informed me and liberated me. On top of all that, my young daughter thought the dress echoed the supernova in the background and both looked like a butterfly.
