The roots of this work lay in the abstract background. From the outset I was enthralled by the color and simple form. The gray whale was the first to appear followed by the shark whale at the top. Techniques are a mix of chance and quite a lot of traditional brushwork. The color seemed somewhat hypnotic and often ran between ultramarine (cool) and cobalt teal (warm).

The subject matter is about the inner world of ideas and imagination....the unconscious, if you like, teeming with it's own type of life.
