This painting looks fairly simple on the surface however it ended up with different layers of design which added to the near abstract set of shapes and color in the whole work.

The background came out soft and indistinct as I worked on it and this in itself lent a sense of mystery and openness for interpretation. The intensity of the blue was almost lost in a temptation to overwork the area and create more detail but experience taught me to "cool my jets here."
