This work took a few technical turns whilst seeking a soft and somewhat mysterious atmosphere to surround the flowers. The background was softened by airbrush and the same atmospherics were applied to the grass.

Extenders and textures were then added so that both texture and color added weight to the painting. Color lifted the flowers from the otherwise soft background. The painting was finally brought to life with a few brushstrokes of dioxazine purple and sky blue.
